Request, the crypto payments provider is launching an integreation with NEAR.
Businesses using NEAR can now use Request’s fast and simple app to generate, track, and pay invoices on its compliance-ready invoicing tool. This tool saves hundreds of hours annually with its automated invoice creation service.
This marks our first successful integration of a Layer 1 blockchain protocol that is not directly compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) that powers Ethereum smart contracts, and many Layer 2 solutions like Polygon and Binance Smart Chain.
As part of our mission to simplify invoicing and payments in crypto, we want to enable more communities on different protocols to use Request Invoicing.
Founded in 2017 by Y Combinator alumni, Request has grown to become the leading provider of payment tools for DeFi companies like AAVE and MakerDAO.
Its open, decentralised transactions network allows businesses to seamlessly manage invoicing, billing, and accounting in over 24 different cryptocurrencies and stablecoins, and eight different fiat currencies. In 12 months since launch, more than US$100m in crypto invoices have been generated and paid using Request Invoicing.

The NEAR Foundation will be using Request Invoicing to manage the grant payments it disburses under the NEAR Grants Program (NGP). The NGP is slated to award about $100 million (USD equivalent) in grants funding and resources to promising teams to grow NEAR’s technology and community through the end of the year.
